The Otherknown is the Best Thing Going
/A couple months back I went to the Staple Expo primarily to support the guys who make Trailer Park Samurai (who are also the Best Thing Going).
As things typically go, I spent too much money across the floor on many great indie comics. One such book I picked up was the first (and so far only in print, though another is coming) chapter of The Otherknown, a sci-fi comic about a girl and her butler-bot, out of time both literally and figuratively.
I read it and fell in love. I told the author, Lora Merriman, as much on Twitter shortly thereafter. But then something even more important happened, I found out this is an ongoing series and it’s available for all of your reading pleasure on The Otherknown website.
Seriously, about four trades worth. Just out there… waiting for you. And it get’s updated a handful of times per month. Insane right?
What the hell are you still doing here?
Well since you are, I’ll just throw a note here that Lora is one of a wave of folks making awesome comics online (as predicted by Scott McCloud on his site and in his book Reinventing Comics). But comics aren’t cheap, kids, even when they’re free. Somebody’s gotta pay for all that digital ink. So visit Lora’s Store and her Patreon and show her some love.
