RedLetterMedia is the Best Thing Going

It's possible that no other group is more responsible for my not getting things done than RedLetterMedia.  A group of friends from Milwaukee, they've made careers of making weird internet videos.  Their bread and butter are videos critiquing and/or making fun of movies.

Though perhaps best known for their "Plinkett Reviews" of the Star Wars Prequels  (indeed that's how I first discovered them), my favorite series are the various incarnations of Best of the Worst.

In the series, they watch three terrible or bizarre films, discuss them, then decide which of the three is the best of the worst.  It's a formula that is so simple but made effective by the combination of their humor, their interactions and rapport, and self-aware editing.

You really feel like you could be best friends with them.  As they say, they're your "flyover best friends from the Midwest (that you’ll never meet or be friends with)".  It's really true.  I can't tell you how many comments I've seen on their videos where fans pine to be able to join them for an episode.

With their latest episode up for an hour and with already more than thirty thousand views, they don't need my endorsement.  Still, their YouTube channel is one of my favorite things on the planet and one of the few for which I will drop everything and watch their latest upload.  Sometimes more than once.  I've probably watched the Double Down episode fifty times.
